5 tips for a beautiful candle burning experience.
1. Get it right the first time
When you light one of our candles for the first time, allow it to burn until the melted wax pool reaches the edge of the container. Thanks to our choice of double cotton wicks, you can expect a beautifully even wax pool in just a few hours, helping to minimize tunnelling.
2. Keep your candle burning for the right amount of time
Avoid burning candles for more than four hours at a time. After three to four hours of burning, gently blow out your candle, and let it cool down for at least two hours before relighting it to ensure the wax fully solidifies and is safe to burn again. As recommended by the National Candle Association, you should stop burning a candle when approximately half an inch (over one cm) of wax remains in the container, as burning it any further can be a safety hazard and overheat the container.
Also, it is completely normal to see small craters on the surface of your soy wax candle after burning; this is actually a sign that you have a 100% natural soy wax candle with no paraffin wax.
3. Keep your wicks trimmed
Every time you want to light your candle, trim the wicks down to 1/4 inch (about half a cm) if necessary, preferably with a candle wick trimmer or sharp scissors. However, because we use high quality self-trimming wicks, you shouldn't have to do this often. This will ensure a safe burning experience with no smoke.
4. Keep your candle away from moving air
To prevent black marks on the glass, keep candles away from fans, air conditioners, open windows, and areas with heavy foot traffic that can disturb the flame's stability.
5. Keep your candle out of reach of children and pets
Candles should always be used under supervision and burnt within sight. Always keep children and pets away from candles.
We hope you will enjoy our candles as much as we do.
